Since 1997, he has been employed at the Institute of Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague, where he works as an archaeozoologist and osteologist. His professional field is archaeozoology, historical zoology, osteology, morphology, paleoecology, paleoeconomics, etc. René Kyselý processed a large amount of osteological archaeological materials from different periods (Neolithic–Modern).
